COVID-19 Mental Health Support Helpline Extended

Smart TMS has announced that its FREE Mental Health Support Helpline is to be extended.

The company established the service in March to help people whose mental health is affected by Coronavirus.

Mental Health Concerns

One of the big concerns about the pandemic is that it could have far reaching consequences for mental health.

Lockdown and social isolation can have a devastating impact wellbeing, as feelings of loneliness and separation from loved ones have become all the more common during the ongoing pandemic situation.

Anxiety is also an issue. Many simply find they have a lot more to worry about – with concerns about their health, their families, education and future employment being bigger than we could have ever imagined.

Those feelings of anxiety, panic or depression, accompanied by loss of sleep and lack of wellbeing are possible signals for poor mental health. Yet as many of the normal services have been either reduced or closed during the pandemic, patients struggle to get appointments and are left not knowing where to turn for support.

FREE Mental Health Support Helpline

With the uncertainty brought about by the Coronavirus outbreak, Smart TMS established a free service in March 2020, which offers online support sessions for those suffering from increased anxiety or worsening mental health.

Telephone sessions are held with qualified practitioners who can listen to your concerns and provide appropriate practical advice and support.

The service has been well received by patients and the company has therefore decided to extend it. A spokesperson explained:

“Since we launched our mental health support helpline a few weeks ago, we are really pleased to have been able to help people.

They continued:

“A telephone support service is something we haven’t offered at Smart TMS before, but we knew when the pandemic first hit that we wanted to do something to give back to our patients and the public to help where we could.”
